Here are the questions Katia asked me:

1. What got you interested in blogging?

As a communications major in college a blog was a necessity, really, it was. My MCOM 101 professor made us all create a WordPress blog our first week. At first I wasn’t super into it because I have always been super shy about my writing – which is why none of my friends or even my boyfriend can read my blog – so I only did class assignments. However, I was also on the school paper because that same professor saw something in me and agreed to sign me into her upper level PR course – so I wouldn’t have any conflicts with lacrosse – if I agreed to write for the paper. My mom was ecstatic, she was always a fan of my writing and urging me to join creative writing clubs and classes. When she heard about everything I was doing at school she told me if I wanted to write she’d pay for me to have my own WordPress blog and that is how I started blogging on my own and not for school, so thanks to my professor and my mom.
2. Do you have an ultimate goal for your blog?

This blog started off as a way to connect with others who are navigating through post graduate life. It’s a weird time. My sisters friend was down here to visit a few weeks after I graduated (2018) and told me to write everything out because I wasn’t the only one. Unfortunately, post grad depression hit me hard and I felt stuck and so low to the point where I stopped doing everything. No blogging or even writing in my journal. I even stopped calling my friends. But here I am two years later back at it but I changed it to a lifestyle blog all about my life. I’m hoping to use this blog as a way to just get back into writing regularly and to connect with others and kinda form a community of others making their way through life. I diverged but I guess my ultimate goal is to make something out of my writing.
3. What do you hope readers take away when they visit your blog?

I hope readers come and connect with what I have to say. Whether you come because you’re navigating life or wanting to travel or read or do anything I write about. I also totally hope my readers take away that I have some fly boots – LOL I joke.
4. If you could trade places with someone for one day, who would it be and why?

If I could be my pampered ass bunny that just sleeps, poops, and eats all day while I call her beautiful, that’d be awesome. Besides being a five pound bunny, I would love to trade places with someone in a completely different setting. I would love to see how other cultures function and what their daily life is like rather than the tourist side I see when I travel.
5. What is your favorite memory?

Cheesy but the night I told Tyler I love him. We waited a long time to say ‘I love you’ but I wanted to make sure I was serious before I said it. We were dating for about nine months (we weren’t exclusive the first two) and we took a night ride down Gulf Blvd on his motorcycle. We packed some blankets in the back and stopped at the southern most beach on the barrier island I live on. We unpacked our blankets and cuddled up watching the heat lightning over the gulf. We laid in silence for a while before I finally grabbed him and said the ‘L word.’ He giggled and said ‘I knew you’ve been wanting to say it’ then kissed me and said it back. It wasn’t a grand gesture but it was perfect for us.
6. What is something you still want to achieve in your life?

Honestly, I’m not sure. I’m stumped on this one. The first 19 years of my life I had no goals. I never expected or wanted to go to college. The only reason I went was for lacrosse and because I grew up in a prominent neighborhood where college was just what you did, I never heard of someone not going to college. But college changed me and I’m forever grateful I went. I was introduced to all different types of people and it taught me a lot about the world around me. Sophomore year I started caring more about school but I still never actively set goals. I don’t know what it is but I struggle to think of the future which is probably why I have never set a goal in my life besides the annual goals my work makes me set which are purely work based.
7. If you were to write a letter to your younger self, what would you say?

It’s okay to be who you are. Stop trying to hid it because you’re just hurting yourself more. You’re pretty fucking weird but if you be yourself you’ll find the right weirdos to be in your life. And stop popping your damn pimples because they do leave tiny scars!
8. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

Just close your mouth while chewing, it’s not that hard. I CANNOT stand the sound of chewing and with your mouth open it’s just a no from me.
9. Where do you see yourself by the end of this decade (2030)?

Like I said, it’s hard to see myself in the future but I guess I’m getting a little better at it now that I’m an adult. In 2030 I could see myself being married to Tyler with probably two kids already (I want them young) and me still sitting on the sofa and sending Tyler pictures of adoptable rabbits. My ultimate goal in life is to open my own animal sanctuary, while 33 will still be young to have enough money to do that, I hope to be able to start the plan then.
10. Random- Chocolate or Vanilla?

VANILLA!!!! Okay, I love a good chocolate bar but I hate anything chocolate flavored. I told you, I’m a weirdo.
